Double-blind process

The Editorial Board of NIST Spectrum: A Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies invites researchers, academics, and practitioners to submit original research manuscripts for its upcoming volume. NIST Spectrum is listed in NepJOL, and published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), as applicable. The journal welcomes contributions from national and international authors in the areas of management, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, sociology, organizational psychology, business communication, entrepreneurship, information technology, technology management, and related disciplines. The NIST Research Management Cell (RMC) aims to provide a scholarly forum for the publication and dissemination of high-quality research, innovative ideas, and knowledge that contribute to academic, professional, institutional, and societal development. Researchers are therefore cordially invited to contribute original scholarly work in their respective areas of interest. The journal accepts submissions throughout the year. However, authors wishing to have their manuscripts considered for publication in the inaugural volume should submit them by September 11, 2026. Manuscripts may be submitted via email at rmc@nistcollege.edu.np. Authors are requested to follow the Author Guidelines provided in the About the Journal section.

About the Journal

NIST Spectrum: A Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies is a multidisciplinary, double-blind, peer-reviewed academic journal published by NIST College. The journal promotes research, interdisciplinary inquiry, innovation, and the dissemination of scholarly knowledge across a broad range of academic and professional disciplines. The journal provides a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and emerging scholars to publish original research, critical perspectives, conceptual contributions, and evidence-based practices. Through the publication and dissemination of quality research, NIST Spectrum seeks to strengthen academic and professional knowledge networks and contribute to research, teaching and learning, professional practice, and societal development.

Aim and Scope

NIST Spectrum: A Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies aims to provide a scholarly forum for both established and early-career researchers and to promote multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research addressing contemporary academic, professional, technological, and societal issues.

The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, conceptual papers, and case studies from national and international contributors. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, management, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, sociology, organizational psychology, business communication, entrepreneurship, business law, behavioral science, computer science, information technology, and technology management. Manuscripts may be empirical, exploratory, conceptual, review-based, or case-based and should demonstrate appropriate theoretical grounding, methodological rigor, originality, and contribution to knowledge or professional practice.

Author Guidelines

NIST Spectrum is committed to maintaining high standards of research integrity and publication ethics and follows internationally recognized principles and guidelines, including those recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Manuscripts must be original and must not have been previously published in the same or substantially similar form in terms of content, theme, or data.
A manuscript submitted shall not simultaneously be submitted to or under consideration by another journal or publication.
Authors shall disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research or publication process.
Authors shall be responsible and accountable for the originality, accuracy, ethical conduct, and integrity of their submitted work.
Where applicable, authors shall obtain appropriate ethical approval, informed consent, and permission for the collection, use, reproduction, or publication of data, images, instruments, copyrighted materials, or other third-party content.
Authors shall appropriately acknowledge and cite all sources, data, computer codes, quotations, ideas, and other materials used and provide persistent identifiers such as DOIs.
Authors shall comply with applicable requirements relating to privacy, confidentiality, data protection, research ethics, and intellectual property rights.
Manuscripts may be screened using appropriate similarity-detection software.

Manuscript Requirements

Manuscripts should adhere to the following requirements:

Requirement	Details
Article title	Article title should be concisely worded, not exceeding 15 words.
Abstract	Each article shall include a well-structured abstract of no more than 250 words and five keywords. The abstract should incorporate the purpose, methodology, findings/conclusion, implications, and originality of the study in a coherent paragraph.
Article length/word count	The complete article should be between 6,000 and 9,000 words, including the abstract, figures, tables, main text, and references. Tables containing more than 300 words should be included in an appendix.
File format	The manuscript shall be submitted in Microsoft Word format, using Times New Roman, 12-point font, with double-line spacing. PDF files or other formats shall not be accepted.
Manuscript structure	The manuscript shall follow APA 7th edition guidelines. For double-blind review, submit two separate files: (i) an anonymized manuscript, and (ii) a title page with author details.
Tables and Figures	Tables and figures shall follow APA 7th edition guidelines, be appropriately numbered, and submitted in black and white.
Citations and References	All citations and references shall strictly follow APA 7th edition guidelines.

Peer Review Process

A structured process ensuring the quality and integrity of every manuscript.

Initial Screening

Editorial Board screens for scope, formatting, and minimum academic quality. Authors receive feedback within 15 working days.

Reviewer Assignment

A unique manuscript ID is assigned. The Editorial Board identifies and invites reviewers with relevant expertise for a double-blind review.

Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate and recommend: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject. Normally completed within 21 working days.

Revision

Authors revise and resubmit with a response-to-reviewers document. Revisions may be verified by original reviewers.

Final Decision

Editorial Board communicates final decision. Upon acceptance, publication agreement is completed and DOI is assigned.

Publication

Final designed version provided for author check. Article is published in the nearest scheduled issue and made available online.
