IoT Smart Farming is an environmental hardware and software project engineered by NIST electronics & IT students to empower modern agriculture in Kavre district. Utilizing low-power ESP32 microcontrollers, soil moisture sensors, and cloud analytics, the system provides automated precision watering, weather forecast integration, and soil nutrient telemetry to optimize crop yields while conserving water.

Problem Statement

  • Traditional farming relies on fixed watering schedules, causing excess water waste and crop stress.
  • Farmers lack affordable real-time telemetry on soil NPK levels, moisture content, and microclimate hazards.
  • Manual pump control requires constant physical presence in remote fields.
